Red velvet Cake Pops

Happy family day to my fellow Canadians and Happy Monday to everyone else.

I love cake pops! Dont you? Not only are they super cute but taste a-mazing!
My first cake pop I ever had was from Starbucks as a surprise from my friend (isnt he sweet).

Ever since then I've wanted to make them.
Its not too hard you just have to find the right consistency and reading other blogs help a lot.

And behold red velvet cake pops with white chocolate and sprinkles.

Have you been watching the Sochi Olympics?

Homemade Pretzels

Happy December!
It's been a very busy week and it's only going to get crazier as the terms ends and exams start. Also everything just gets a little bit more hectic with the holidays fast approaching.
On to the post!

So when those cold winter nights hit and you want something warm to eat thats not heavy and works great with tea, how about a pretzel.

My brother taught me how to make these from his cooking class and the best part you can make them just the way you like.
We made two types a garlic, herb butter pretzel and a sesame pretzel.
It takes about 10mins in the oven and the secret here is to brush some baking powder-water mixture on top to help them brown faster.

 Delicious and simple.

Eggplant Parmigiana

My first attempt at creating this delicious dinner. I saw the recipe on "The Chew" and I had to try it out. It's a simple recipe and easy to execute. Once you have assembled all the ingredients and soften the eggplant in a pan just slip it in the oven for 20 mins and go about your day. Very delicious and fast, definitely going to make this for dinner again.

Homemade Cobb salad

This is a brand new salad I tried recently. I've seen this salad so many times online and in recipe books so I thought I wondered if it tastes as good as it looks. All these delicious ingredients were laid on a bed of baby spinach (you could also use lettuce or are anything you like). From the back of this picture i have shredded cabbage, carrots, then avocado, turkey, tomato's and feta cheese. All together this was one the the prettiest salads I've ever made and it tasted equally good as well.If you try this out let me know.

ENJOY!

Simple healthy snack: Pico de Gallo & Pita

One of my favorite and simple snacks is Pico de Gallo. It's a symphony of flavours from red onion to the plum tomatoes and hint of lemon juice. I like this best of a piece of fish for dinner. During the day it make a delicious dip with pita.
Pico de Gallo consist of avocado, salt, pepper, red onions, plum tomatoes, jalapenos and a squeeze of lemon juice.
This is now one of my dads favourite "salad" like meals, enjoy and try this recipe out for yourself.

Greek Food Anyone?

With my lack of job comes a lack of money. As times become more rough and a little crappy I've had to become more creative with what I do have. As my weekly Sunday meals go I've was feeling something different besides the pasta or Asian recipes I usually try.
Long awaited I finally tried my culinary hand at Greek food. Surprisingly it turned out well and was actually quite simple too. I used ingredients that I already had in the fridge. The only difference is I had pulled pork with my rice pilaf and roasted potatoes. For this recipes simplicity is best. Its all about the seasoning and taste which I've learnt from watching WAAY too much Chef Ramsey shows.

Below is my Sunday meal I cooked, it tasted pretty much the same as Jimmy the Greek and Mr. Greek that i buy in the mall food courts.

Thanks for reading enjoy my post and tell what you think. :)
Rice Pilaf, roasted potatoes with tzatziki and pulled pork

Yum!
