Tokidoki Arte Palette Featuring Sandy in the City and Lion Pappa

This is the Tokidoki arte palettes this is my very first set of makeup from them. These were a great steal at sephora at only $6!!
I know what an amazing price i couldnt pass it up.
At first i was upset because i was hoping the colours in the palettes werent the same. They follow the same pattern and using this palette alone you can create a day and night look easily, each comes with 4 different eye shadows and a blush.
For a great price and how compact they are it was a great deal and there very cute. The art is really colourful  and the signature of Tokidoki.

Pastel Striped Manicure

This is a very simple cute and girly manicure you can give yourself just by getting your favorite nail polishes. I choose these colour because not only do they go well together but also i really do love my blues, pinks and purples. To achieve this look I picked a base colour it can range from baby blue to lilac purple and then slowly start to I over lap to reach the look you desire. After each layer let the polish dry. And there you have it a cute girly summer manicure! Enjoy!

Dark knight rises nails

In keeping with the biggest movie of the year and celebrating the end of dark knight I have decided that I needed to have batman nails as my way of adding to the hype of the dark knight. It's been a killer busy week and I have one more ahead. But the positive is that people at my work loved my nails and so did the customers going to watch the movie so in a sense my work is done. Enjoy and tell me what you think! :)

Book Review: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Number of pages: 352
Stars: 2 out of 5

This is another one of the books i've read and reviewed to see more books that i have reviewed check out goodreads.

I followed the hype of this book and was disappointed. honestly i wanted to know why everyone was so crazy about it, it won the New York times best-seller but to me the book was just a average book. i don't know if its just me but that's my opinion. I didn't really enjoy it as much as i thought i would.
i thought the book was going to be more creepy but it turns out its about a group of 10 children and their house mother who take care of them. They live in a time loop which is a another word for being stuck in the same day over and over. they live in the time loop because know one will understand them and in order to be safe from the hollowgast(creatures that hunt them) they are stuck in a specific time. Jacob finds his way in to their world by the help of his grandfather and he learns who he is and what he is.

Overall the book was just a mahhhhh! i was honestly book bored hopefully the next book will be better.

Book Review: Bigger Than a Bread Box by Laurel Snyder

Number of pages: 223
Stars: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed this book honestly I didn't really know what to expect the last thing i thought it would be about is a a young girl coping with her parents separating.

When your in a tough time we want to believe in anything just to escape reality. that is exactly what Rebecca Shapiro does. One day her mom packs up suitcases and tells her and her younger brother to get into the car, she tells them their going on a vacation to visit their Gran in Atlanta leaving behind their dad in Baltimore. As soon as they reach in Atlanta Rebecca learns the truth that they might be staying for a period of time and her mom and dad sort through something's. Rebecca doesn't understand what is going on and lashes out at her mom in rage and confusion. The main parts of the book is about Rebecca trying to understand what is happening with her family, she doesn't want to believe that her parents might be splitting up. She finds a magic bread box that grants anything she desires as long as it fits inside the bread box. she soon learns that with the power the wish whatever she wants their are consequences as well. Can Rebecca truly handle all the changes in her life?

Though it was interesting following the perspective of a young child going through a separation, not knowing wither her family might ever be whole again the only thing i didn't understand was did her parents reconcile because it ended with them arguing about which route they wanted to take to get back home but did they ever truly work things out? T hats the only thing i was lost about.

Book Review: Picture Perfect by Catherine Clark

Number of pages:
Stars: 4 out of 5

This is my first book i've read from this author and her style of writing was similar to Rachel Hawthorne but her older books.

Its about a family reunion of old college buddies and their kids. This will be their last summer vacation before they all head off to college, where there parents once went, Linden college. Our main character Emily has had a crush on Spencer(one of her fathers friends kids) last vacation when they were together she admit how she felt towards him and he brushed her off. Feeling hurt and not wanting a repeat of what happened she sets her sights on a summer fling with the boys next door from down south. As she tries to get closer to Blake, Spencer is always there to ruin everything. When they both get caught in a storm they call their parents who set them up in a bed and breakfast. Now they're stuck with each other for a night where they will have to face the truth of what happened in the past and how they feel about each other.

It was a real easy read, I took 2 days to finish the book, which i loved. I loved how the author used a lot of sarcasium and jokes between the 2 lovers and their families, the writing was very witty and funny at times.

Feta watermelon salad

Its been a scorcher in Toronto as we have been going through a heat wave with weather that feels like 40 degrees for the past 3 days.
The best part it's time for shorts and pool its officially SUMMER!
So to help deal with the heat i made this feta watermelon salad (watermelons are my all time fav fruit especially for summer!) in this salad all i have is green onions, mint, red vinegar, watermelon and feta cheese. The watermelon is the sweet and juice of the salad, the cheese adds the salt and the mint and onions finish it off. Its a wonderfully mix of flavours, i didn't know how this would taste but it really taste good and i usually am not one to have fruits in a salad. This is a healthy choose if your ever craving sweets and not only that its refreshing as well.
