Update

Hey I've been AWOL for a while because of my computer's hard drive crashing, sadly i couldn't write about what has been going on and there was a lot to talk about.
Other than it being really cold as of late and now school's out for our Christmas break everything else has been in hyper drive about universities and collages. It's hard to keep up and get the grade needed sooo I was real need of these 2 weeks of a break from all of that.
I had a couple of things i want to post like books, movies, makeup, food and more, if the computer co-operates today I'll get that up other than that - Hope your enjoying your break if your on it.
Lately I've been reading quite a bit of books :
  • Enchanted Ivy
  • The Reckoning
  • The Book of Negros
  • Before I Fall
  • and in school King Lear
Have you guys read any of these books tell me what you think.

First Day of Snow

I woke up this morning to a frigid temperature and outside snow covered the ground. I though finally snow, finally December and the holidays! I love the snow and was happy to See the ground and trees covered in white, too bad it melted by the afternoon. Do you like the snow? I also love the different colours and clothing that you can wear for the winter, like right now I'm soooo into different hats especially the knitted ones.

9 Inches HEELS!!!

I've recnelty heared on the radio some crazy fashion news!
Apparently shoe designers are bring their fashion and heels to a new level LITERALLY! I've just seen the most tallest pair of heels ever!!!! They are 9 inches there are called ironically enough sky heels. Ever since Lady Gaga and Victoria Beckham have been wearing higher and higher heels in public people seem to want to out do them. Sky Heels are at a very affordable price of $100
To read more about it go to the website : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1328839/NINE-inches-New-Sky-Heel-tallest-shoe-hit-stores.html

Book Review: Dead Is So Last Year

Book: Dead is so last year
Author: Marlene Perez
Series book # : 3
# of pages: 192

This is the third installment of the "Dead Is" series and Daisy and her sisters are back with another mystery to solved in their town of Night Shade.

Back of the Book
Something very strange starts happening in Nightshade the summer that the eldest Giordano sister, Rose, gets a job working at Dr. Franken's research laboratory. People are starting to see double. Doppelgangers of Nightshade residents are popping up all over town. Daisy, Rose and Poppy think it's a coincidence, until the rumors start that their father, who disappeared several years ago, has been spotted in town.

Meanwhile, Daisy's beau, Ryan is spending all of his time training for football, and like the other guys on the team, he's grown enormous almost overnight. Samantha Devereux's boyfriend's neck has doubled in size since school ended. Could the football players be resorting to extreme measures to win?

Between summer jobs, sugar rushes, and beach parties, the Giordano girls get to the bottom of these mysteries and more.

Review
I liked the third just as much as the first two novels. There was a lot of new characters that we learn about in the book and each of them have their own connect to the new mystery in Nightshade. WE meet new characters like Slim ( Daisy's new boss), Mrs. Mason, Dr. Franken, Flo, Natalie and many more. At first when i started reading i though it was going to be about werewolves again but as you read more we learn its about Doppelgangers and their all over the town. Daisy and her sisters along with the Nightshade city council must figure out a way to not only stop them and figure out who's doing it, but we must find out what is going on with the football team her boyfriends on. They have seemed to grown huge since she last saw all of them and are the Giordano's father really back in town, and if he is why hasn't he contacted them?
This book was filled of action with many different plots, each sister is doing their own thing for the summer and there is a very big surprise at the very end of the book. At points the writing was messy and all over the place but overall a really good book to sit down and read.

Purple and green makeup look!

Being bored means you allow your mind to wander ans sometimes get you into to trouble or create a masterpiece. When I'm bored i tend to have fun with makeup and with the help of my sister i have created a fun colourful look using my Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box. And whats the point of having a sister if you can't use her in some way for your advantage or guinea pig . lol

I created this fun purple and green look using ransom(purple) and graffiti(green) and this is what i came up with. I think i even wore this to school once :P
Anyways enjoy!!

Blue and Bronze water marble

So I've got a new design to share with y'all and it was a good excuse to stop studying for the night! :P
I've been trying this out for a while, and all though its takes a while to get used to and its a lot of work compared to doing you nails normally it's worth the time. Especially when your getting compliments at school. BOO YA!
So enjoy this look and try it your self.

Sorry for the crappy pics of the design my camera is out of commission and i took this with my phones 2 megapixal camera.
But i think you get the idea.

Here are the steps:
  1. Put tape around your nail for easy cleanup
  2. in a cup put distilled water or in my case water from a bottle(this is what you put your nail polish in)
  3. Find colours that will spread out and stay on top of the water. (I find Sally Hansan and Nicole work best)
  4. next work back and forth with two or as many colours as your want (you want to make like a bulls eye)
  5. then take a tooth pick and create a design in the water but dragging the toothpick across the nail polish
  6. stick your nail into the nail polish floating in the water
  7. And theres your water marble nail design
OHH and one last thing i've been listening to this song the whole weekend.

This is just a look at some of our wonderfully, tasty culinary arts. Enjoy and don't get too hungry :) .

What do you think of the food? Let me know.

SCHOOL AT NIGHT!

This week I have started ti take night school at a another high school in the city. For those who don't know that means I take a another class at night and it starts at 6:30 p.m and ends 9:30 p.m, so that's technically my nights every Tuesdays and Thursdays. I like it but it's really hard having to stay awake and focus on a subject, I don't like it that much but some days it isn't bad at all.
I think the most depressing thing is when I'm sitting in class and watching the sun going down knowing that most people are at home chillaxing and I'm going to be at school for another 3 hours. Sometimes when your sitting in class times goes by sooooo slow and yet another down side is that you get really hungry during class and there is NO way I'm exploring this school it's HUGE!!
But besides that it's been good so far and next class i have a test (great!). Ahh well new experiences every day.

MY Dream Shoes: Sam Edelman "Lorissa"

I was shopping and looking at the new shoes for the fall season and I just happened to also be thinking of prom (which I was suppose to be a part of) and I saw the most amazing heels that just have to be mines!! Usually for females anyway theres that one piece of clothing or accessory that you just have to have and mines are these heels. Most girls pick out there dress first then the heels but, I'm kinda the opposite :P. So the moment we have all been waiting for the heels are by Same Edelman black suede heels called "Lorissa."  Not only are they a beautiful piece of art work but, also look so different and interesting, that I bet anything that if you were to wear these at a party you would definitely stand out.

I don't know I just loved how different they are and if its not your thing then tell me what heels you do love.

Super Mario Mushroom Nails

Ive been searching the Internet and YouTube for a cool and fun design! Cutepolish whom I love had this interesting design. I love super Mario so I had to try this out for myself. Believe me when I say The mushroom is harder to make than it appears.
Here are some of the pictures I took of the design I did on my my nails.

With Flash

All without flash and natural lighting.

Here is Cutepolishes tutorial on it.

A Swatchers Life!

I decided because I was bored and I got a new nail polish or two, I could swatch them for ya.
The bluish turquoise colour is called " Turquoise" (great choice of name!) and the darker green is called "Jumping Jade" which is from the new Sally Hansen line called Insta-Dri. I cant remember how much the blue costs because I had it from a while ago, the Jade tho, is $ 4.97 at any Shoppers or Walmart.

I really love the green is close to the colour Emerald city by Xtreme Wear ($ 2.97) . The colour is a rich jade which a little bit of shimmer but it cant still look partically matte at times.

This is what the colours look like with flash.

Frriiddayyss.......

YUUHHH today is such a boring Friday, My pretty much glued to the T.V or listening to my ipod but other then that I'm pretty bored and there's ntohing to do. I've been listening to some random songs like right now I'm listening to Trey Songz - Missing You. What songs do you guys liked to listen to when  you have the bordom blues?
Lately I've been catching up on some missed out childhood shows and movies like Antastasia and Lilo and Stitch. What Disney movies do you like? I love to watch Disney movies when I'm really sick or bored, cuase the hapy songs and music puts my to sleep which is what you need sometimes.
It's finally an end to the first week of school and believe me when I say THANK GOD!! Firstly i had trouble getting out of bed since it's kind of chilly in the mornings, and then it feels like school just lasts forever during the day, but other then that it's been pretty mellow - no homework etc. Hopefully the new weeks bring more fun and excitement into my life.
I'm going to leave you with a funny moment from Lilo and Stitch, one of my favourite parts. ENjoy!!

The Last Song By: Nicholas Sparks

I must say first and foremost Sparks Is one hell of a talented writer who knows what his readers want and how to make them feel emotions. Not only did I love this book but I also loved "A Walk To Remember" they are both such touching romantic stories each wiht their own twist.

I loved reading "The Last Song" i couldn't put it down nor did I want it to end.

The Summary
Seventeen year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father… until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story about love in its myriad forms – first love, the love between parents and children – that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that deeply felt relationships can break our hearts… and heal them.

I also watched the movie after i finshed reading the book and although there were a lot of similarites there were some differences too. I just highly suggest you read the book before you watch the movie, because you will interpret and look at it differently.

Grey China Glaze Swatches!

                                                                  Without flash

Recently I have been searching for the best grey nail polish I could possibly find. During my search I found China Glaze in “Recycle” and feel in love with the matte, opaque colour it gives. In just on coat there is a beautiful soft grey and after two coats a strong grey appears.

Book Review: Dead Is a State Of Mind

Title : Dead Is a State of Mind
Genre : Teen supernatural romance
Length : 175 pages
Author : Marlene Perez
Series : Dead Is
Book number 2

The Summary
Welcome to Nightshade, California—a small town full of secrets. It’s home to the psychic Giordano sisters, who have a way of getting mixed up in mysteries. During their investigations, they run across everything from pom-pom- shaking vampires to shape-shifting boyfriends to a clue-spewing jukebox. With their psychic powers and some sisterly support, they can crack any case!

There’s a gorgeous new guy at Nightshade High: Duke Sherrad, a fortune-teller claiming to have descended from Gypsies. Even though she’s psychic herself, Daisy is skeptical of Duke’s powers. But when a teacher who was the subject of one of his predictions ends up dead, she begins to wonder if Duke is the real deal after all.

Maybe if Daisy can track down the teacher’s killer, she can find out the truth. The only trouble is, all signs point to the murderer being of the furry persuasion. Is Daisy any match for a werewolf? Maybe she is . . . in more ways than she bargained for!

Review
I really expected more from this book after reading the last one from the series. It was kinda dissapointing because it was more focused on Daisy and Ryan's slowly fading realtionship. The book was basically all about the predictable ways teens act when there in a realtionship.
There was a mystery to be solved though -  it was the murder of one of Daisy's teachers Mr. Davis and she must help determine who killed him and what their motive is.
I found the last 4 chapters were very rushed and poorly written and left me kinda of confused. Firstly she finds out who the killer is in the second last chapter when the book doesn't seem to have really ever reached a climax and secondly she introduces a new character named Bianca who I've never heard of.
So overall this was sooooo not my favorite book by far hopefully the next book in the series is better.

Book Review: Twenties Girl

Twenties Girl is by Sophia Kinsella there are 669 pages. It is set in London and the main character is Lara Lington.
The Summary
Lara Lington has always had an overactive imagination, but suddenly that imagination seems to be in overdrive. Normal professional twenty-something young women don’t get visited by ghosts. Or do they?

When the spirit of Lara’s great-aunt Sadie–a feisty, demanding girl with firm ideas about fashion, love, and the right way to dance–mysteriously appears, she has one last request: Lara must find a missing necklace that had been in Sadie’s possession for more than seventy-five years, and Sadie cannot rest without it. Lara, on the other hand, has a number of ongoing distractions. Her best friend and business partner has run off to Goa, her start-up company is floundering, and she’s just been dumped by the “perfect” man.

Sadie, however, could care less.
Lara and Sadie make a hilarious sparring duo, and at first it seems as though they have nothing in common. But as the mission to find Sadie’s necklace leads to intrigue and a new romance for Lara, these very different “twenties” girls learn some surprising truths from each other along the way. Written with all the irrepressible charm and humor that have made Sophie Kinsella’s books beloved by millions, Twenties Girl is also a deeply moving testament to the transcendent bonds of friendship and family.

 The Review
It all starts when Lara goes to here great-aunts funeral, there a ghost named Sadie starts talking to her and persuades her to help in her quest to search for her necklace. That was the essential motive until her great  aunt Sadie deciededs shes runnign the show. I loved the book I truly felt the emotion that each character was feeling and didn't know what to expect. Lara must not only find the necklace but deal with a crazy self absobed ghost bothering her. Lara isn't in the best place in her life- shes obsessed with getting her boyfriend back, stressed about her job and is hiding everything from her parents. Along the way Sadie and Lara learn from each other. Lara learns to relax, move on and be more opened to different things as well as learning the truth about her bbf Natalia and about her family history whihc is essentially Sadies past. Sdaie learns that she can't get everything she wants and learns that it doesn't hurt to be giving to another person.
Sophia Kinsella to me oesn't dissapoint and I think this is one of my favorites be her because some books you can guess whats going to happen this one, I honestly thought there would be a different ending but then again it's good to be surprised. She kept her light funny and misschevious writing alive through her new delightful characters.
Any body who likes sophia kinsella should give this a definite read. I personally loved it!

Centre Island Photography

I went to Centre Island with the family and we went on an amazing tour around the Island as well. Took some pictures that I would like to share.
